My companion and I can't believe that time has gone by so fast. We woke up this morning and exclaimed that it couldn't be P-day yet, we just had p-day a week ago!... even though it felt like it was only a few days... like two. We're happy that it's p-day now that we get to write our lovely families! YAY family! This week has been crazy, but I think I usually say that. So it's a good thing that it's usually at least somewhat true!
To answer some questions, for dad- The RC is the Referral Center... sorry I thought I'd mentioned that before. It's the place where we make calls out to the people that members have referred to have the missionaries, or put the information in of someone who has referred themselves.
And now to answer Becky's Questions :D
Hmm... A favorite Scripture that I've read this week... I've read lots. Recently I've been reading in the Book of Mormon, and I found out there are two different Ammons. One who went to find the people that moved back to the land of Nephi with the Wicked Noah's father, and the one who chopped off all the arms. So that's cool.
The other one I found that I rather like, that I think I might do for my plaque is ... well two scriptures, one from the old Testament, and one from the new And I don't have the paper with me so I'll have to do it by memory. The first is one from Isaiah, which is also in 2nd Nephi. Isaiah 2:2-3 (2NE 12:2-3) and... Mark? no Matthew... I think... It talks about how the Gospel will be spread to all nations and when it has reached all nations, then the end is there n stuff like that.
Hmm... There are a lot of tours that we give... do you mean a specific tour with people, or a type of tour? We give tours around Temple Square which cover the historical buildings, etc, basic beliefs and so on. Then there's the Beehive house, which is so cool. Amy'd love it. Dad probably would too :D. That's Brigham Young's house (Well one of them) And Then there's Welfare Square (Which is cool, but it's an hour long rather than a half hour...) and Humanitarian Center (which I've not been to yet and haven't given a tour at... My training experience has been different than others...)
As for a specific person... there have been many tours that I've loved. But Yesterday, sis. Salazar and I were able to see miracles. So far, in our companionship, we've not received any Referrals. Maybe a Member referral or two, but no actual referrals (They're basically our equivalent of Baptisms since we don't baptize in our mission, so it's been a bummer) And yesterday we had an excellent tour with a very less active member, who probably hadn't been to church in 30 or more years. The whole tour (it was only him on the tour) was about him and he could feel the spirit so strong through the whole tour. After the Christus statue, we asked him how he felt and he couldn't speak, just pound his chest over his heart and shake his head with a smile. That was an excellent experience.
The next one was at the Beehive house. We took three groups of people through, and in the second group there were three people from Japan... unfortunately they weren't from Dad's mission, they lived more northern. It was t he last group that was the miracle. There were two missionaries (a couple) that are on a mission for the security, and their friend who's not a member. We went through the house and we didn't expect much to come of the tour, but at the end, their friend surprised us by referring! She was our first referral we received as a companionship. We were SO excited about that...
And I'm excited to talk to you all tomorrow!
OH!!! And dad!!! Do you have Oren's Number? And can you get a hold of him? I've met several distant relatives since being in t he Family Search district (you know that place with the computers in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building? We get to invite people to do missionary work on the other side of the vial in addition to this one. It's so cool :D) And one of them was talking about how Oren wrote a book about our ancestors, and so on. And I met a Turtschi! I think he changed his name from Durtschi back to Turtschi, so it's really cool :D
Any ways, I'll talk about it all more tomorrow, love yall lots!!!!
Be happy and so on!
LOVE!!!!!!
